Aaron Sims, 27, of Camden, was arrested in West Philadelphia after being on the run more than a year, and charged in the Jan. 25, 2020 death of West Virginia University student Chloe Robertson, 6abc reports.
Robertson was riding in an Uber while visiting friends in the Delaware Valley when the Uber was rear-ended by a speeding vehicle on the Vine Street Expressway around 1:10 a.m.
Sims fled the scene but admitted to being the driver at a Pennsylvania State Police barracks, however, by then Robertson had died. He was released on bail after being processed, but has been on the run since then.
Sims' blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit at the time of the crash and there was THC in his system, toxicology reports show.
A Mothers Against Drunk Driving campaign was created in memory of Robertson.
